Thank you

He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

He shall give charge to His angels concerning you.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go, I will counsel you with my loving eye upon you.

Aren’t we blessed beyond measure? Living under perfect grace that asks for nothing but a heart that believes. Yet how often do we actually pause to realise that the very breath in our nostrils is a magnificent proof of a love that knows no bounds. It’s always the little things in life that takes up most space and likewise it is in the little details of life that God surprises us the most.

We all say thank you to God for everything He is to us, for everything He does for us. No doubt about it. Some of us even say thank you for all the unanswered prayers, thanking God for divine protection against the wishes, which had it been granted, would have been tragic rather than a blessing. Of course we are thankful.

But what about all that goes on behind the scenes? I recently listened to some amazing preaching that made me sit up and think about this love that goes ahead of us; this love that has travelled into eternity and made crooked paths straight, a love that removed storms out of our lives, that put to nothing the sickness that would have robbed us of our health and peace, that ensured that we are at the right place at the right time; this love that is constantly in the battlefield fighting to ensure we live our life the way it’s meant to be. How do we ever say thank you to this love? Or do we forget because we never asked for it?

For me, this reality was beyond what I could imagine and comprehend. If a prayer answered makes us bow down in worship, how much more for this unasked for and unmerited favor? Mere words, a thousand songs of praises, a lifetime of devotion? Would that suffice? Think about it! What if we are to sit in His presence face to face trying to say how thankful we are?!

That’s when this heart would start beating for that one true love – a love that truly loves.
