His image in us

God created heaven and earth and everything in it, calling out every living being into existence. He saw it and he said to Himself- it is good. He makes man in His own image, giving him His very breath, breathing him into existence - this He calls 'very good'.

Kings in the past erected statues of themselves, drawing attention to themselves, revelling in their own glory, forcing people to pay obeisance to it. God, as awesome as He is created us, His people in His image, placed us in this world He created to show off His absolute glory. Wow! This is the highest honor one can receive. To be created by the hands of God, in His nature and to know that God actually wants to show off through us. Can life get any better?! This shifts my perception of what appeared to be the truth all along. Yes we knew that we are created in His image and likeness, having a physical form and a mind that comprehends; but do we know that He trusts us to be able to carry His image and bear upon us His nature? I would think impossible, but God thinks otherwise.

The word of God in Ezekiel 36:26 says, 'I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.' A heart that is inclined to His word and makes room for His will. With this new found love, we surely can live a life that He intended for us when His hands fashioned us and His plans were imprinted in our hearts.

I'm holding on to this as I walk this path, difficult as it seems. I know for sure there can not be a road I would walk that my God hadn't walked before. He goes before me. I simply follow - His image in me, His presence by me.
